Nice Time x Action For Equality pocket making workshop
October 22 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Join NICE TIME ARTS and ACTION FOR EQUALITY for a craftivist evening on Tuesday 22nd October at The Yard Theatre, Hulme!
Have you ever noticed your clothing has fake pockets? Pockets you can barely fit anything into? Sometimes, no pockets at all?
Well it’s time to take action against this oft-ignored aspect of women’s fashion!
Join us in stitching up oppressive clothing practices! By the end of the session you’ll have had fun crafting your very own pocket (or several pockets) from start to finish as well as gained helpful advice and tips on how to sew them onto your clothing and other ways to better adapt your wardrobe for modern life.
All materials provided!
Drop in between 5.30-8pm.
This event is free and open to all.
No prior sewing skills are required – beginners encouraged!
The Yard is on the ground floor and is wheelchair accessible. There are gender neutral toilets and accessible toilets. Music may be playing at a low volume, but can be turned off on request (you may also request this in advance via email). The room is spacious and there is access to a quiet outside space. There will be light refreshments available. Contact us on email@example.com for any additional information or requests.
The Yard is part of the Work For Change building (which also houses Venture Arts and Kim By The Sea). The entrance is the large blue door on the corner, with large “41” letters. Press the buzzer and someone will let you in and lead you to the room we’ll be in! Our number is 07539 371 070 if you have any trouble finding us.
By Car – The Yard has parking around the building which is free for 2 hours. There is also a disabled parking space a short walk from the entrance.
